Since March 16 – or “the day the world changed” as I like to call it – so much has changed. We have been forced to confront challenges we never could have fathomed. The very way we move through the world has been deeply influenced by the pandemic. The way we deliver programs to the way we understand the impact of our work. So much has changed… and will continue to change.
One thing – scratch that – FIVE things that have not changed are our company values. In fact, those values have never been more important. And those five values, along with the support of our theater families, will guide us through the pandemic.
Treasure Valley Children’s Theater is founded on five core values: Respect, Courage, Commitment, Enthusiasm, and Excellence. These values advise our operations from the plays we produce, the Artists we employ, and the way we interact with our community.
These values will advise our actions as they relate to reopening.
The science and understanding of the COVID-19 coronavirus is ever-changing. We cannot predict when it will be responsible to return to business-as-usual. We respect the health and safety of our community, especially our most vulnerable citizens, health care professionals, and first-responders.
We will maintain online learning experiences for youth and we will not be providing in-person instruction or performance programming until such time that the science and our trusted community partners and health professionals inform us that the risk is mitigated and our core values will not be compromised.
We know that many would like a definitive date of opening. We are not in a position to provide that right now. We humbly request your patience and urge you to visit our website to learn more about our online programs and opportunities to help us empower youth and continue our mission to change the world one theater kid at a time.
